To set up your Metamask wallet, open Chrome. Click the three dots on the upper right corner, then click "More Tools" and "Extensions". Then go to the three stacked lines on the top left and open "Chrome Web Store".

Type in "Metamask" and add it to Chrome extension. You'll then see the fox appear on the upper right corner. Hit "Get started", " I agree" and "Create a wallet". Create your password which will bring us to the Secret Recovery Phrase! Write this phrase down and keep it ONLY to yourself. Don't store it on your device or else if you get hacked, no one's able to help you, my friend.

Last step is to confirm your secret recovery phrase by putting these words in the order given to you and voilà! You now have your account and public address! (The line that starts with "0x" is your public address!)

We are grieved to report this sad news in web3 field...

In last episode, we ended up that #binance declaring that they have the intention of acquiring #ftx. However, just when we thought the drama was over, it came another twist! On November 10th, Binance tweeted, “In the beginning, our hope was to be able to support FTX’s customers to provide #liquidity , but the issues are beyond our control or ability to help.” so “….we have decided that we will not pursue the potential acquisition of FTX.”

With SBF deleting his previous tweets, FTX and #alamedaresearch official websites taken offline and the majority of FTX’s legal and compliance team quit, this nightmare in the crypto world has devastated the public.

We are grieved to report this sad news in #web3 field...😢

Recently, FTX dropped a bombshell in the #crypto world. Until the script is done, #FTT has fallen from 85 to 2.8 US dollars. The entire event started when the press revealed #SBF, the CEO of FTX, was using FTT for the loan as #collateral at his co-founded institution #AlamedaResearch. It said that the relationship between FTX and Alameda is too close. The next day, Alameda was reported for its financial difficulties, making the users falter.

The event was closely related to #CZ, the CEO of Binance He tweeted #Binance decided to #liquidate any remaining FTT on their books; FTX liquidated 6 billion US dollars in one day, and lots of cryptocurrencies were transferred from FTX to Binance, causing FTT to fall rapidly by 30%. Even though Binance claimed it intended to #acquire FTX, it couldn't stop FTT's collapse. FTT dropped to 10 US dollars, and the day's drop was over 58%.

On November 10th, Binance declared giving up the acquisition because users' funds had surpassed what they could do, and the falling price was continuing. There were rumors that SBF lost connection, FTX's official website was offline, their law team quit, Alameda's official site and Twitter were cleaned out, and FTT left for 2.6 US dollars. It was a trauma in the crypto world.

NFT stands for non-fungible token. What does non-fungible mean? Let’s say you passed by a vending machine and decided to buy coke. You wouldn’t be spending time picking which 5 dollar bill to use because they have identical value. In other words, they are fungible or replaceable. A fungible item can be broken down into smaller units and can be easily traded for such as money or cryptocurrencies.

Back to the scenario. Unfortunately, you spilled your coke on your signed Air Jordan shoes. A new pair of the same kind and brand wouldn’t share equal value because it’s irreplaceable and unique. It’s non-fungible.

To wrap up, we know that NFTs and cryptocurrencies are not the same because NFTs are non-fungible while cryptocurrencies are.

I bet you’ve seen people selling fake luxury goods online or on the streets. Pairing them with NFTs seems to be a good solution in proving their authenticity and combating counterfeits. But here’s another problem.

These physical goods are separate from their digital NFTs so the seller can sell the NFTs while keeping the physical goods, just like how Julian Lennon (John Lennon's son) sold his Beatles memorabilia as NFTs while keeping the actual physical items.

To solve this disconnection, Azuki introduced the concept of scan to own, connecting “the digital (NFT)” to “the physical (goods)” with an in-built chip. When you sell the physical good, the chip naturally goes with it.

When the buyer receives the physical item, scans it, it then directly says on-chain that this is the new owner. More details about Azuki's project in the next episode!

The top-up system is hurting the game industry !

The top-up system is a well-designed humanity trap. Few people can maintain their sanity in such a system, and it is hard to imagine how high the cost of addiction is. Although many game companies have made money with this system in recent years, it is like a gillnet that is hurting the entire game market and will eventually make players lose their passion for games.

Top-up games have a typical model:

First, those companies induce purchases with a low price and often intentionally use real time as a standard to make people feel that it is a good deal. For example, it only costs players $39 to get the same results or equipment that require three days of time investment in the game, which easily causes impulsive purchases.

Then, they make players keep investing money with the cumulative VIP consumption system. This system takes perfect advantage of how humans are unwilling to waste the money they have spent, encouraging players to keep paying. For example, after spending $39, players only need an extra $61 to get $100 and unlock some features. After unlocking the features with $100, they want to unlock the features of $200, $500, $1000, and even more. Players unconsciously invest too much in the game, and when they finally find out, they might have fallen too deep to leave, just like a boiled frog.

What these players get from this experience is definitely neither entertainment nor a sense of accomplishment, but consumption pressure and repetitive work. Even after they leave the game, they must go through a painful struggle since transferring the assets they have invested is not easy. This awful experience will continue, which is not a good development direction for the game ecology.

Another serious problem is that top-up games focus on high-speed iteration (short-term flow) and do not pay special attention to the survival time of the game (long-term operation). Hence, the problems of duplicated systems, old wine in a new bottle, and plagiarism are especially severe. They have led to a large number of similar games in the market, which is undoubtedly hurting the variety of gaming experiences and is likely to cause misunderstanding among light players and limit the game's look.

Therefore, when the market is flooded with these types of games, it will enter a vicious cycle where bad money drives out good, which is undoubtedly worrisome. We are apprehensive that the game market will become more and more sluggish. However, we believe that these problems can be solved very well with blockchain technology. For example, we can directly improve the situation of eliminated games by giving assets to players. We can also solve the top-up problem by limiting the number of game items with NFTs.

In fact, it is not the technology that stops the market from moving in the right direction, but the developers' unwillingness to give up quick profits.
