Job Title: Senior Front-end Engineer (React Native)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Front-end Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of relevant work experience and 2 years of React Native app development experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality React Native mobile applications
  • Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests using Jest, Cypress, and other testing frameworks
  • Plan and implement reusable components for a consistent and efficient development process
  • Collaborate with PMs, designers, and other engineers to ensure the best product outcome
  • Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge and share with the team
  • Take ownership of product quality and have a sense of responsibility for the product

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Javascript, React, and React Native
  • Experience in writing tests for React Native applications using Jest, Cypress, Detox, or Appium
  • Ability to plan and implement reusable components and company-wide style guides or npm packages
  • Familiarity with React, React Native, Next.js, and TypeScript
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to actively participate in reviewing and providing feedback on peer's PRs and accepting constructive feedback on their own work.
  • A commitment to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge
  • A sense of responsibility and ownership of product quality
  • Ability to think beyond the specification and take initiative in product development


Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge and experience in optimizing web performance, including page speed and SEO

Interview process

1st stage Video Interview (Approx. 30 min - 1.5 hours):

  • Discuss your previous experiences and present your abilities
  • Talk about your personal character, interests, and personality
  • Your thoughts, opinions, or questions about WORD UP
  • Office interview is also possible (if you wish)

2nd stage Technical Interview (Approx. 1 - 2 hours):

  • On-site at the office (3-5 minutes walk from Taipei City Hall MRT Station)
  • Simple algorithmic questions, React related technical questions, implementing part of our web interface or problems we've faced before

3rd stage Online Interview (Approx. 15 - 60 minutes):

  • Chat with other managers/colleagues at the company
  • Discuss other details

在目前這個階段,我們以英文為主,很快地會拓展到其他語言,再來是所有其他科目。

目前我們每個月幫學生複習超過 800 萬次單字、練習 200 萬題題目。

公司文化:

我們相信成員重質而不在量。所以現有成員都相當優秀,對自我工作品質要求高。也因為這樣,管理制度上主管並不會 micro management,開的會很少,也不會一直盯著做事。

基本上下雨天大家常常都會在家工作 (老闆應該還沒不同意過 XD)。遠距開會、線上討論是家常便飯,所以希望找來的成員也都能夠有效自我管理。

目前團隊約 20 個成員,對待彼此就是一起衝刺、解決問題,朝著希望讓這個世界更好的方向共同努力的夥伴。所以彼此間沒有老闆、下屬的關係存在。

大家有不同的意見就會直接講出來。所以也希望您對我們要做的事情有興趣,有點想法。 "表達想法" 對於我們來說不是個空泛的詞,因為團隊很小,希望每個人都能貢獻不同的觀點。

一群工程師在一起都會想討論事情的極致,例如有成員會樂於研究 "如何增進 Productivity",也定期會有讀書會大家共同分享、討論、求進步。也期待你能教我們一些東西!

如果我們發現一個事情不對或不好,那麼我們會試著去修。如果我不會、或者沒時間修,至少會先提出問題或提供想法,看其他夥伴能否解決。 我們極度不接受僅止於抱怨,或者 "那是 xxx 的問題" 的做事方式。當問題發生時,除了先解決當下的問題,我們更著眼於如何建立制度或改進流程來防止下次的問題。

因為創辦人本身是半路出家的程式開發者,所以是不是本科系不重要,更著重自我成長的能力。同時,我們也是務實的工程師思維,所以當您在認為 "我的自學力很好" 的同時,能提供一些佐證 (例如你都如何學、何時學...)。
