About the Team

HTC Creative Labs is a global team of designers, artists, engineers, and researchers that delivers design strategy and incubates new products and experiences for the HTC portfolio. This team is responsible for much of HTC’s most significant design work over the past decade. Our current focus is on creating next-generation XR software and hardware experiences for the HTC VIVE brand and VIVERSE ecosystem. Our process relies on the collaboration of exceptionally talented individuals to create products that offer functional benefits and emotional resonance to our target audiences.

We are currently seeking a Design Systems UI Intern who will contribute to building and evolving our design system, with a focus on creating accessible, scalable, and intuitive user experiences.

What you'll be doing

• Contribute to our unique cross-platform design system, and learn about the structure and systemic design thinking.

• Collaborating and working with team members on designing system components.

• Helping to update component documentation for design patterns.

• Working proactively to help maintain and improve the design system.

• Join design brainstorming and prototype testing.

• Sharpen presentation skills through interactions with team members.

• Be flexible and comfortable with fast-paced processes.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a student in visual design, interaction design, human-centered design, or a related field.

• Strong visual design skills showcasing in a design portfolio. Illustration, and motion design skills as a plus.

• Interest in working on an integrated design system and organizational processes.

• Knowledge of fundamentals in interaction design, design patterns, and principles.

• Familiarity with the latest creative tools including experience designing in Figma, and prototypes in Figma as a plus.

• Passion for collaboration, iteration, and feedback.

• Good communication skills, self-motivated, and ability to work collaboratively, both in person and virtually.

• Has great attention to detail, with a keen eye for consistency.
